Stay safe online and think carefully before sharing personal information.

For your own safety, please avoid posting details that could reveal too much about your daily life, routine, or whereabouts. This includes announcing in advance where you are going, sharing live updates about your location, naming your workplace, school, gym, or regular places you visit, or giving details about how long it takes you to get to and from places. Even small pieces of information can be combined to build up a clear picture of your routine, where you spend time, and when you may be alone or away from home.

Please also be very cautious about sharing information, photographs, or identifying details about children. Do not post children’s full names, schools, clubs, regular activities, locations, routines, or any information that could make them identifiable or easier to trace. The same care should be taken with photographs, especially school uniforms, location-tagged images, or pictures taken outside homes, schools, or other recognisable places.

Be careful too with photos, check-ins, travel plans, vehicle details, and anything else that could identify where you live or where you are likely to be at a certain time. It is always safer to share less, wait until after an event or outing has happened, and keep personal routines private.

Not everyone online is who they say they are, and information shared publicly can be copied, saved, or passed on without your knowledge. Protect your privacy, trust your instincts, and never feel pressured to reveal more than you are comfortable with.

A good rule to follow is this: if a detail could help someone find you, track your routine, identify your children, or learn too much about your personal life, do not post it.
